President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is visiting Lima, Peru, to attend the APEC summit, held his second Korea-Japan summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.After his first meeting with Prime Minister Ishiba last month, President Yun said, "The situation in the region and the world is urgent, with military cooperation between Russia and North Korea leading to the dispatch of North Korean troops," stressing that close cooperation between South Korea and Japan is more important than ever.
Prime Minister Ishiba also said, "It is an important task to strengthen cooperation between Korea and Japan in light of the recent severe environment surrounding us, including North Korea."
This is the second meeting with Prime Minister Ishiba since the Korea-Japan summit on the occasion of the ASEAN summit and the 14th Korea-Japan summit since President Yoon took office.
