The Ministry of Unification said that while North Korea still maintains a hostile and disconnected attitude, our proposal for a dialogue council remains valid.

Vice Minister Kim Soo-kyung said in a briefing on the unification of the first half of the Yoon Suk Yeol government at the Seoul Government Complex today, "We urge North Korea to stop making anti-unification and anti-national claims and actively respond to dialogue."

In the future, the government will work closely with the new U.S. administration to promote North Korea's change and denuclearization without wavering, and further accelerate the implementation of the August 15 reunification doctrine.

In a related development, a high-ranking official at the Ministry of Unification pointed out that there is a concern about South Korea's "passing" if the next Trump administration starts dialogue with the U.S., saying that it will not be easy for North Korea and the U.S. to pass and talk to South Korea because the international environment has changed significantly from the first Trump period.

At the same time, a high-ranking official explained that North Korea, which blew up the inter-Korean roads and railroads built using our money, is considering measures for the loan situation.

About 180 billion won in kind loans from the government until 2008 was spent on the Gyeongui Line and the East Sea Line connection project, and North Korea, which declared inter-Korean relations as two hostile countries, blew up some sections on the 15th of last month.
