A draft of a so-called "human cell map" containing detailed information on all types of human cells has been released.

The Human Cell Atlas Initiative, a joint research team from 102 countries sponsored by the Mark Zuckerberg Foundation, has published more than 40 papers containing the achievements of the past eight years in international journals such as Nature and sister journals.

The paper included changes in the formation process of the placenta and skeleton, changes in the brain maturation process, lung responses to COVID-19, and the effects of mutations on disease.

In addition, this project has shown that advanced analysis tools have been developed, including methods to search for similar cells by artificial intelligence machine learning.

The research team explained that it has created a comprehensive reference map for healthy human bodies and has established criteria for detecting and understanding changes that underlie health and disease.
