It has been claimed that a group of Russian state-linked hackers is behind several cyberattacks against North Atlantic Treaty Organization and NATO members, and that South Korea has also recently been targeted.

The Guardian said that Secretary Pack McFadden Lancaster will speak at the NATO Cyber Security Conference in London on the 25th local time.

In a pre-released speech, McFadden said "hacktivist" groups linked to the Russian Kremlin were carrying out increasingly frequent and detailed attacks around the world, fearing it was a real threat.

It said they were behind at least nine of the cyberattacks on NATO members, including attacks on critical U.K. state facilities.

They also recently targeted South Korea, NATO's Indo-Pacific partner, in response to monitoring the North Korean military's dispatch of troops to Kursk.

This seems to refer to the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack in South Korea earlier this month at government ministries and major agencies.

Lancaster is the second-in-command behind the prime minister in the Cabinet Office, in a ministerial position that does not lead a particular ministry.
