The first snow has been observed in various parts of the metropolitan area since last night, and heavy snow warnings are in effect as it is expected to fall until tomorrow.

I'm also concerned about downtown traffic congestion during rush hour,
I'll connect you to the
reporter for more information.

Reporter Kim Tae-won, please tell us the current situation on your way to work.

Yes, on the streets of Hongik University Station, you can see citizens on their way to the subway station after getting off the bus from early in the morning.

Wearing thick clothes and umbrellas as if it were in the middle of winter, he often walked to the subway station.

Even now, snow is still raging, so the visibility of buildings far away is so short that it is hard to see.

In addition, snow removal has already been done once since early morning, but snow is quickly accumulating on the roadway.

With the full-fledged rush hour approaching, the flow of vehicles on major roads in downtown Seoul is gradually slowing down.

Some places are closed to traffic,
As of 6 a.m.
In the middle of the roads in downtown Seoul, there are four two-way restrictions: Bukaksan-gil, Inwangsan-gil, Samcheong-dong-gil, and Auditor-gil.

From last night to 6 a.m. today (27th), the average snowfall in downtown Seoul reached 15cm.

With heavy snow expected to fall in many parts of the metropolitan area this afternoon, a special snow warning is currently in effect in the metropolitan area, including Seoul.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security started the first phase of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters from 3 a.m. today and raised the warning level of heavy snow crisis from "attention" to "caution."

Since last evening, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and autonomous districts have also issued the first phase of snow removal emergency work and have deployed 5,200 personnel and 1,200 snow removal equipment to respond to the snowfall.

Even if we deal with this, we are still concerned about snow gliding accidents,

If you haven't come to work yet, you'd better use public transportation rather than your own car if possible.

If you really need to drive, you should also check the city's road control status from time to time at the Seoul Metropolitan Transportation Information Service.

I'm Kim Taewon from YTN on the street in front of Hongik University Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
