[Weather] More than 40cm of heavy snow throughout the Seoul metropolitan area...an emergency on the way to work

Yesterday (27th) November's heaviest snowfall in 117 years, and a lot of snow is still falling this morning.

Looking at the amount of snow so far, there are some places where it snowed more than 40cm in the Seoul metropolitan area, including 43.9cm in Baekam, Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, 41.6cm in Geumjeong, Gunpo, and 41.2cm in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

Suwon received the most snow since its observation, and major areas in the Seoul metropolitan area, such as Seoul and Incheon, received the most snow in a day as of November.

Even now, heavy snow warnings have been issued in Seoul and other metropolitan areas, parts of Gangwon Province, northern Chungcheong Province and eastern North Jeolla Province, and strong snow of up to 5cm per hour is still falling in the region.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said strong and heavy snow would continue to fall until the morning, and urged people to use public transportation as much as possible due to the possibility of vehicles being isolated due to heavy snow, and to prepare winter equipment thoroughly if using vehicles.

In addition, he said that there could be branches broken or falling objects due to a lot of snow, so please pay attention to safety accidents.
