Lee Bok-hyun, the head of the Financial Supervisory Service, said, "We are conducting an inspection on Woori Bank's illegal loans to the relatives of former Woori Financial Group Chairman Sohn Tae-seung, and similar forms of illegality were confirmed during the tenure of Woori Financial Group Chairman Lim Jong-ryong and Woori Bank President Cho Byung-kyu."

Regarding unfair loans to former chairman Sohn Tae-seung's relatives, Lee said there were similar transactions during the presidency of Hyun and Hyun, stressing that he will strictly respond to illegal or regulatory violations with zero tolerance.
