Han Dong-hoon, CEO of People's Power, won a compensation suit against Yoo Si-min, former chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, saying he would hold him responsible for spreading fake news.
The Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of some of the plaintiffs today (4th), asking former chairman Yoo to pay 30 million won to Han.
Former chairman Yoo made remarks on YouTube and radio broadcasts from 2019 to the following year to the effect that the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and the Anti-Corruption and Robbery Department, where representative Han served, illegally tracked down his and Roh Moo-hyun Foundation accounts.
In March 2021, a representative filed a lawsuit seeking 500 million won in compensation for being branded as a public official who illegally used public authority to retaliate.
Former chairman Yoo was handed over to a criminal trial on charges of defaming Han in connection with the remarks and was fined 5 million won in June.
