China tightens controls on graphite exports to the U.S....Is it affected by domestic batteries?

There are concerns that the expansion of the semiconductor war between the United States and China could spark a fire in the Korean secondary battery industry.

China's Ministry of Commerce announced on its website that it could closely look into the process of finally exporting graphite, a key raw material for secondary battery cathode materials, to the United States and ban exports depending on the case.

Most of the cathode materials are sourced from China by domestic battery industries such as LG Energy Solution, SK On, and Samsung SDI.

The government believes that China's tightening of its control over graphite exports to the U.S. is likely to depend on U.S.-China relations after the new Trump administration, and plans to closely communicate with the industry and keep a close eye on trends.
