Regarding the controversy that the prosecution did not request some of the search and seizure warrants that the police applied for against military units to investigate the martial law incident, the prosecution countered, saying that it handled them as usual.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said that the warrant requested by the police is handled by a separate department in charge of the special investigation headquarters of the prosecution.

The prosecution explained that there is no need to search and seizure separately, as the military prosecution dispatched to the special prosecution is already issuing search and seizure warrants while investigating the targets.

He added that the court is also deciding whether to request a warrant based on necessity and significance, considering the fact that it has already dismissed telecommunications warrants charged against active-duty soldiers on the grounds that they are concerned about duplicate investigations.

Prosecutors are fully aware of the severity of the matter and stressed that they are reviewing and processing all warrants applied by the police as quickly as possible.

Earlier, police said they had applied for search and seizure warrants for six locations, including the presidential office and the National Police Agency, but prosecutors had requested warrants for only four locations except for the Special Warfare Command and the Capital Defense Command.
