The rebels, who took over the Syrian regime, have signaled to neighboring countries to relax, saying they will "not be caught up in the war" in the future.
The international community has warned Israel, which has seized the disputed Golan Heights and is attacking Syria day after day, to step down.

It is Damascus, the recent capital of Syria from the sky.
The relaxed appearance of vehicles and citizens in and out of the city center is so calm that it is hard to believe that the war was fought until a few days ago.
The economy is also normalizing, with markets rejuvenating as the regime smoothly falls to the rebels.
[Fuad / Damascus Market Merchant] I'm glad things are getting better. The Assad regime wouldn't let me work before. It was always monitored by customs. Now I can work and everything is fine. It's getting better every day.]
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, who leads the rebels, sent a message to neighboring countries saying they would not be caught up in another war in the future.
[Abu Muhammad al-Zolani / Rebel HTS leader: Their fears are unnecessary, and the nation will be rebuilt if God wishes. The fear was due to the al-Assad regime, which is now gone and the country is moving toward development and reconstruction.
Syria is returning to normal internally, but the intervention of external forces such as the United States, Russia, Iran, and Turkiye is an unsettling factor.
In particular, Israel, which is pouring missiles into Syrian military facilities, is threatening Damascus with its tanks forward deployed in the disputed Golan Heights.
In response, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries, as well as the Western world and the United Nations, are pressing for withdrawal from the buffer zone, calling it a violation of the armistice agreement.
In a rare move, the U.S. sent its secretary of state and national security adviser to the Middle East at the same time to express support for Syria's new government and discuss regional issues such as Gaza.
