FBI Director "Will Resign Before Trump's Inauguration"...The nomination of Trump's confidants.

2024.12.12 AM 06:54
Current Director Christopher Wray, who was rumored to be replaced when Trump nominated his confidant as the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and FBI, said he would resign in time for the launch of the second Trump administration.

"After careful consideration, we have decided that it is the right thing for the FBI to do for us to work until the end of the current administration in January next year," Ray said at a meeting with FBI employees on the 11th local time.

Ray says his goal is to focus on his mission to work for the American people every day and that resignation before the end of his term is the best way to prevent the FBI from being dragged deep into the chaos.

He then emphasized that the decision to resign was not an easy one, but what he is focusing on is what is right for the FBI.

Director Ray, who was appointed during Trump's first term in office in 2017, is 10 years, and there are about two years left after the inauguration of the Trump administration.

However, on the 30th of last month, Trump announced that he would appoint former acting secretary of defense Kathy Patel, a close aide, as the next FBI director, signaling the replacement of director Ray.
