Major interior platform companies have been caught by the Fair Trade Commission for operating unfair terms and conditions that unilaterally exempt them from their brokerage responsibilities or block consumer posts at will.

The Fair Trade Commission examined the terms and conditions of use of six major interior platforms, including today's house, hide, stay-at-home, Nadrio, home decor, and Degong, and detected and fixed 84 unfair terms and conditions of nine types.

We are responsible for uniformly exempting the platform from liability regardless of intention or negligence, and we are also required to revise the provisions that allow members to unilaterally delete or use posts written by members without prior notice.

Legally, the right to withdraw subscription can be exercised within seven days, but the terms and conditions that limit it to three days, and the terms and conditions that allow withdrawal of subscription to be made only by customer center phone have also been changed.

In addition, the provisions that compensate members for all damages, the provisions that unfairly terminate the contract or restrict the use of the service, and the provisions of unjust jurisdiction were deleted or amended.

The number of consultations and damage relief related to interior platforms received by the Korea Consumer Agency has increased significantly from 13 in 2019 to 60 in 2022.
