The National Police Agency's special investigation team on emergency martial law has secured a "security phone" used by former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun during martial law and a server containing communication details.
The police special investigation team said it seized and searched the Ministry of National Defense this afternoon (12th) and secured former Minister Kim's security phone.
In addition, the Capital Defense Command, which has a security phone-related server, also raided and forensics the communication details of the security phone.
This search and seizure is the first joint investigation since the launch of the joint investigation headquarters with the police, high-ranking government officials' crime investigation office, and the Ministry of National Defense's investigation headquarters.
Earlier, on the 8th, the special forces raided former Minister Kim's office, diplomatic missions, and home, and belatedly learned that the security phone existed during the execution of the warrant and asked the Ministry of National Defense to submit it arbitrarily, but it was rejected.
Since then, additional search warrants have been issued to secure security phones and data has been secured.
