Amid widespread support for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol in the ruling party, local government heads belonging to the People's Power, including Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, have also turned to a pro-impeachment stance one after another.

On the other hand, some ruling party heads, including Daegu Mayor Hong Joon Pyo, are still cautious about impeachment.

The heads of metropolitan and provincial governments under the People's Power issued an emergency statement last week, a day before Yoon Suk Yeol's first vote on impeachment.

The president insisted that he should step down to a second term but prevent impeachment.

[Yoo Jung-bok / President of the People's Power City/Governor's Council (last 6th): Only the impeachment of the president should be avoided. Any further constitutional suspension must be prevented. Yoon Suk Yeol's president should form a cabinet of emergency powers led by a responsible prime minister and step down to a second term.]

However, among them, there were a series of positions that they should go in favor of impeachment in six days.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who was the first to mention his approval of impeachment, said he should now make a decision for the future of the Republic of Korea and that the president should be brought to justice through impeachment.

At the same time, he emphasized that the party should be united in the face of a national crisis, and that the decision should be decided by party theory.

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, chairman of the ruling party's city and provincial governor council, also said that the president's perception of the situation itself is still wrong based on the contents of President Yoon's statement, and that he withdraws his existing position that impeachment should be avoided.

Then, Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum and Chungbuk Governor Kim Young-hwan also virtually agreed to impeachment, saying that all lawmakers of the People's Power should participate in the impeachment vote.

However, Daegu Mayor Hong Joon Pyo expressed his intention to be cautious about impeachment, comparing Han Dong-hoon, the representative of the People's Power, who supported impeachment, to weeping willows swaying in the wind.

In addition, President Yoon's declaration of emergency martial law is difficult to regard as a crime of rebellion, and the frame of rebellion is the Democratic Party's ploy to push for an early presidential election.

In the meantime, the level of offensive by local governments belonging to the Democratic Party of Korea is gradually increasing, with Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon holding a one-man protest in front of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters demanding the president resign.
