The Washington Post analyzed that the presence of many young people at a rally in front of the National Assembly yesterday is a hopeful sign for Korean democracy.

Unlike recent political rallies, the newspaper reported that the impeachment rally has significantly younger attendees, with teenagers and people in their 20s carrying cheering sticks.

This is contrary to the conventional wisdom that the younger generation is indifferent to politics, and it is hopeful for Korea's future that they have shown this level of participation and commitment to democracy, said Joan Jo, a professor at Wesleyan University in the United States.

In addition to the young, all ages, including parents, lovers, and the elderly with children, attended the rally, and felt like a K-pop performance rather than a rally, the newspaper said.
