Senior lawmakers with more than four terms of People's Power held a meeting at the National Assembly and agreed to form an emergency committee as soon as possible, chaired by a member of the party.

Rep. Park Yong-eun met with reporters after the meeting and said, "As representative Han Dong-hoon expressed his resignation, the need to launch an emergency committee was discussed as soon as possible, and the chairman thought that an experienced party member who can lead the party's stability, harmony, and reform was not suitable."

However, when asked whether a person in the party meant an active member of the National Assembly, he avoided an immediate answer, saying that he would say it only as an expression of a person in the party.

Senior lawmakers will propose the opinion at a general meeting of lawmakers in the afternoon and take steps to gather consensus from their lawmakers.
