The government will hold an extraordinary state council meeting as early as the 19th to deliberate on whether to exercise the right to request reconsideration on six issues.

Bang Ki-sun, head of the Cabinet Office, said today (17th) that each ministry is reviewing each of the six bills, adding that he will hold an extraordinary Cabinet meeting as early as this Thursday to make a decision.

He added that the criteria for reviewing or judging a bill will be whether it conforms to the Constitution and laws and how it will affect the future of the country.

Earlier last month, the opposition party exclusively dealt with amendments to four agricultural laws, including the Grain Control Act, the Agricultural and Fishery Products Distribution and Price Stabilization Act, the Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Loan Act, and the Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Insurance Act, and the National Assembly Testimony Appraisal Act at the plenary session of the National Assembly.

The government and the ruling party opposed this, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance also proposed to then-President Yoon Suk Yeol to veto the bill.
