The Korean Sound Festival was held in Paris, France to promote our traditional culture through sound.

In particular, the pansori performance, which was held to commemorate the publication of the pansori "Heungboga" translated into French, was as hot as the popularity of K-pop.

Reporter Kang Ha-na from Paris went to the concert site.

Before the start of the performance, the audience laughs while learning pansori chuimsae such as "Ulssu" and "Good."

However, when the main performance begins, the audience's facial expressions become quite serious.

Following the performance of the five pansori fields, Arirang sang with a French flag decorated with sogo.

The audience is immersed in the pansori charm before they know it.

[Benjamang / Audience: It was an incredible night. It was lively and I could feel various emotions. It's a rare opportunity, but it always feels good to come to a performance like this.

Chae Soo-jung, who was also in charge of the French edition of "Heungboga," the theme of this year's festival, is confident that French audiences are not repulsed by pansori.

This is because pansori contains the story of love, the universal value of mankind.

[Chae Soo-jung / Professor of Traditional Arts at Korea National University of Arts] I've known for a long time that French people accept Korean pansori without resistance. In particular, through this stage today, there is a big story about how different each person sings pansori and how our ancestors value pansori as the universal story of mankind.]

So, the concert hall was decorated as simple and comfortable as if we were listening to it in a traditional Korean yard.

In the part where you talk to the audience, you come down from the stage and enter the audience's seat.

In addition to pansori performances, this festival also organized a Korean traditional music workshop where you can learn and experience Korean traditional music.

[Beatrice / Audience: I'm here because I want to know Pansori today. I also took a pansori class yesterday, and I was completely fascinated. I was moved to the point where I cried.]

The cultural center also exhibited pansori-related books, folding screens, and books to help understand.

[Yoo Hye-in / Korean Cultural Center in France: Next year, we will introduce Jeju's military culture, folk songs, and Haenyeo's culture, as well as fusion music that combines traditional and modern culture]

The Korean Sori Festival that promotes our traditional culture through sound!

Next year, they will present a performance to introduce Jeju Island and the culture of haenyeo.
