U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has named Stephen Miran as chairman of the White House Economic Advisory Committee in his second term in office.
Trump said on social media that Miran "will achieve great economic growth for all Americans with the economic team."
Miran is a former Harvard University Ph.D. in economics, who served as an economic policy adviser to the Treasury Department during the first Trump administration, and the chairman of the White House Economic Advisory Committee must be approved by the U.S. Senate.
"I look forward to working to help implement the president's policy agenda to create a fast-growing, inflation-free economy," Miran wrote on his social media.
Miran is also expected to focus on realizing Trump's universal tariff presidential pledge, as he said last month that he was "very happy that Trump is using tariffs to secure his negotiating power."
