The Cho Kuk Innovation Party pointed out that the failure to appoint three candidates for the Constitutional Court by acting President Han Deok-soo is the same as the Central Election Commission not issuing a certificate of election to the elected member of the National Assembly.
Chung Chun-saeng, deputy floor leader, said at the party's "Three Years Is Too Long Special Committee" meeting that the constitutional judges elected by the National Assembly are not recommended by the president or the chief justice, but by the National Assembly.
He then explained that the name of the confirmation hearing request is not a motion for appointment, but a 'preliminary proposal'.
Kim Sun-min, acting chairman of the party, also criticized Han for making political judgments at his disposal, saying he was following the Constitution and the law, only looking at the ruling party and the far-right.
