In a statement to the public, Acting President Choi Sang-mok said, "As a member of the State Council, I feel a heavy responsibility for the current situation and sincerely apologize to the people."
We will do our best to stabilize the state of affairs, he said, adding that we will do our best to ensure that the safety of the country and the daily lives of the people are not shaken, including solid security, an unshakable economy, and a stable security order.
He stressed that the more difficult the country is, the more important the role of public officials who are volunteers to the entire people is, and asked them to fulfill their responsibilities in their respective positions for stable state administration.
