A village in eastern Donetsk fell into Russian hands as fighting broke out throughout Ukraine.

According to Reuters and others on the 29th local time, fighting broke out on major fronts in eastern, northern and southern Ukraine.

Russia's defence ministry said it had lost nearly 1,400 troops to Ukrainian forces in a single day since the previous day.

In particular, Russian forces have taken over the eastern town of Novotroitskoye in Donetsk, it said.

The Russian military claims it has been advancing this year alone, occupying 189 new Ukrainian villages.

Russia says Ukrainian forces are also repelling Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region in the western part of the mainland, which entered in August.

"In the past day, Ukrainian forces have lost up to 400 troops, three tanks, three armored vehicles and 14 transport vehicles in Kursk," Russia's defence ministry said.
