Jeju Air's emergency return of the same model.... "LANDING GEAR ABNORMAL"

2024.12.31 AM 05:55
A day after the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, Jeju Air's same model returned due to a landing gear problem.

Jeju Air said that flight 7C101, which departed from Gimpo Airport at around 6:30 a.m. yesterday (30th) and was heading to Jeju, returned after takeoff due to a landing gear problem.

The in-flight announcement was made that passengers were returning to YTN due to a faulty airframe, and after landing at Gimpo Airport, the announcement came out again that it was a landing gear problem.

The flight returned is Boeing's B737-800, which is the same model that had an accident in Muan yesterday.

Jeju Air explained that 161 passengers were on board, and that it returned because it needed to be inspected due to the discovery of an abnormality in landing gear.

Jeju Air set up another passenger plane and departed for Jeju again, but 21 passengers complained of anxiety and canceled the trip.

The Korea Airports Corporation has put a fire brigade on standby just in case, and Jeju Air says inspections are being conducted.
