Broadcaster and interpreter Ahn Hyun-mo has been criticized for his tribute to the Jeju Air plane disaster.

On the 30th, Ahn Hyun-mo posted a picture of the airport's background on his SNS story and added a message of remembrance.

"I've been on the plane for a few days now, Friday, Saturday, and today, but the more I think about it, the more I can breathe in and out, the more I'm grateful for everything," he said.

However, some netizens responded that it was inappropriate for Ahn Hyun-mo to mention "luck" and "audit" amid the disaster.

Some Internet users say, "You can feel your own good fortune from other people's misfortune, but you don't say it publicly," "Did you just want to express that a person who died unlucky was just unlucky and that you were such a lucky person?" and "I don't think that's what you have to say now."

Earlier on the morning of the 29th, Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed into the outer wall and exploded while attempting to land the fuselage on the runway of Muan International Airport. Of the 181 passengers, 179 were confirmed to have died except for two crew members. The government designated seven days of national mourning until 24:00 on January 4 next year.
