The Vietnamese national soccer team, led by head coach Kim Sang-sik, will face Thailand in the final of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Cup.
Vietnam reached the final first by beating Singapore in the semifinals, while Thailand also beat the Philippines to join the final.
Vietnam is trying to regain the top spot in Southeast Asia for the first time in six years since winning the 2018 tournament led by coach Park Hang-seo.
Thailand, the finalist, is the most winning country ever to reach the top of the Mitsubishi Cup seven times, including two consecutive wins.
In the 2022 tournament, Vietnam and Thailand also met in the final, and Thailand eventually took the trophy.
The Mitsubishi Cup, which features 10 Southeast Asian countries, is a soccer tournament organized by the ASEAN Football Federation, and it also received attention in Korea after Vietnam's victory led by head coach Park Hang-seo in 2018.
