It took more than a day for President Yoon Suk Yeol's arrest warrant to be sought and issued.

The court seems to have been deeply troubled by the fact that he is an incumbent president and the president has even issued an opinion claiming the illegality.

Reporter Youngsoo Kim reports.

'Until 10 a.m. on December 29th last year', this is the time when the Joint Investigation Headquarters notified President Yoon Suk Yeol of his third summons.

It was close to an ultimatum, but President Yoon did not appear at the end.

It was midnight on that day that Gong Dong-bon requested an arrest warrant for President Yoon!

Until daytime, it was a cautious atmosphere, but it seems that the internal policy was actually set in the direction of following the usual investigation process.

From the morning of December 30 last year, when the news of the arrest warrant request was announced, all eyes were on the Seoul Western District Court,
Supporters gathered around the official residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan, where President Yoon is known to be staying.

However, the court's time has been longer than expected.

Contrary to the legal analysis that the court usually does not take more than a day to decide whether to issue an arrest warrant, the sun went down and it passed midnight.

After dawn, when the investigative agency and the media were holding their breath, the political opponent was broken when the Joint Investigation Headquarters disclosed the issuance of an arrest warrant at around 9:30 on the second day of the warrant request.

In other words, it took about a day, except for internal court procedures and time to disclose them to the media.

It is the first arrest warrant requested by an incumbent president in constitutional history, and the court seems to have been struggling with President Yoon's opinion claiming an illegal investigation.
