Acting President Choi Sang-mok said he will communicate with the ruling and opposition parties and other leaders ahead of the New Year to find wise answers to difficulties and work toward national harmony and integration.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok said in his New Year's address yesterday (31st) that the domestic political situation is adding to uncertainty amid a situation where the trade environment and diplomatic and security landscape are changing.

In preparation for the launch of the new Trump administration on the 20th, he declared that he would respond quickly to pending issues and closely communicate with major countries to protect Korea's safety and national interests.

He also emphasized that while prioritizing external credit, which evaluates the country in the global financial market, he will make all-out efforts to the people's livelihood by executing the budget from the beginning of the year to manage prices and domestic demand.

At the same time, he vowed to strengthen allies' solidarity, including the South Korea-U.S. alliance and security cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. and respond to the North Korean nuclear threat and Russia-North Korea military cooperation, especially with the South Korea-U.S. joint defense posture.

Acting Choi said, "Eulsa is the Year of the Blue Snake, and snakes symbolize flexibility, insight, and change for a new beginning," stressing that he sincerely believes that bringing everyone's strength and wisdom together can turn the Year of Crisis into a Year of Miracle that beat the Crisis.
