In front of the U.S. Congress, preparations are in full swing for Trump to take his second oath of office.

In front of the White House is a temporary building for the inauguration parade, and Trump hats and T-shirts are sold around.

Citizens have expressed their expectations and concerns for a second Trump administration at the same time.

[Michelle Fisher / New Mexico: We are very happy that the American people chose our country's leader who knows more about the global economy and policies]

[Shay Radar / Washington DC: I don't want the scary things that Trump said to happen in real life. There were actually better things than words. Honestly, a lot of people are probably in uncharted territory.]

Ahead of a ministerial confirmation hearing that will begin before the inauguration, Trump has appealed for Republican unity.

Republicans have emphasized that they need to be smart and tough, saying Democrats are trying to interfere with the confirmation of the great nominees.

He made it clear that he would not give up some controversial appointments, including a candidate for defense minister who is suspected of sexual violence and a candidate for health minister who is skeptical of vaccines.

[Tim Palato / Defense Secretary Candidate Attorney] Sexual assault is a complete lie. It wasn't a candidate, it was someone else who went on stage at the strip club.

The Senate, which holds the right to confirm ministers, has 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats, so if only four Republicans leave, the confirmation will be rejected.

In the meantime, Trump's side has launched a crackdown on ministerial candidates, asking them not to post on social media without permission.
