Most of the New Year's events have been canceled to join the memorial, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, the representative New Year's celebration, the Bell of the Night Bell in Bosingak, Seoul, was canceled and only the bell ceremony was held more solemnly than usual.

In particular, we held a moment of mourning and silence for the victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster in the middle of the event.

Across the country, sunset events have been canceled since yesterday, and festivals have not been held at sunrise spots such as Homigot in Pohang and Ganjeolgot in Ulsan this morning.

The religious community has also canceled most of the New Year's events and is participating in the memorial, with the Christian Corps only holding worship services.

As many as 179 people have been killed, the atmosphere of remembrance is expected to continue after the 4th, the national mourning period set by the government.

So far, I've delivered it to you at the Seoul City Hall joint memorial altar.
