Amid the aftermath of the emergency martial law, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo set a record yesterday (3rd) as the longest-serving prime minister in history, but its meaning has faded because he is under investigation related to civil war from suspension of duty.

At the Cabinet meeting, which had to fill the vacancy of the prime minister, there was also a conflict over the decision of Acting President Choi Sang-mok on political issues.

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who became the first head of the cabinet of the Yoon Suk Yeol government in May 2022.

Since his duties were suspended due to the impeachment of the National Assembly on the 27th of last month, he has been staying at the prime minister's residence and has been out of office.

In the meantime, he became the longest-serving prime minister since democratization in 1987, exceeding 959 days in office, but considering the current situation, it is only a faded record.

Prime Minister Han refrains from outside activities, so he will be able to see it at the hearing of the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial or at the summons investigation on the "civil war."

[Han Deok-soo / Prime Minister (Last month, 11th): (Are you planning to comply with the investigation agency's summons?) We will do our best according to the legal procedure and investigation procedure.]

In the midst of this, the Cabinet, led by Acting President Choi Sang-mok, exposed the conflict.

The start came from acting President Choi Sang-mok's appointment of two constitutional judges despite opposition from the ruling party.

[Choi Sang-mok / Acting President (Cabinet meeting on the 31st of last month): The chaos of conflict and confrontation must no longer persist. We need to coordinate and compromise with each other.]

Many of the participants in the Cabinet meeting strongly protested that it was a one-sided decision that was not discussed in advance, and Kim Tae-kyu, acting chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, even submitted his resignation letter.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok has always emphasized stabilizing state affairs and resolving concerns about economic instability.

Attention is focusing on whether the acting system of Choi Sang-mok will be able to settle in the absence of an unprecedented president and prime minister at the same time.
