Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to make 2025 a year to fight against Russia's invasion by all means.
"Peace will not be given like a gift," Zelensky said in a 21-minute New Year's address on the 31st night of local time.
He also stressed that "Ukraine must have power so that it can be respected on the battlefield and at the negotiating table and that our arguments can be accepted."
President Zelensky has also maintained a positive stance on regime change in the United States, Ukraine's most powerful supporter.
Regarding President-elect Donald Trump's return, President Zelensky said, "There is no doubt that the new U.S. president has the will and ability to achieve peace and end Putin's invasion."
