"Destroyed flight recorders transfer to the United States..."Expect two days of voice file conversion work"
The black box flight recorder of the Jeju Air accident passenger plane will be transferred to the United States because it is impossible to extract data in Korea.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it has agreed to move the flight recorder to Washington, D.C. to analyze it with the cooperation of the U.S. Transportation Safety Board.

He also explained that he will depart for the United States as soon as the specific transfer schedule and our personnel to conduct joint work locally are set.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said the accident investigation committee decided to make the decision after a technical review because it was more effective to analyze it in the United States.

It also added that although the flight recorder was not significantly damaged in appearance, there was an expert opinion that there could be a problem with data preservation if opened carelessly during the repair of the lost connector.

The voice recording device, which has completed file extraction, will start the voice file format conversion work today, and the results are expected the day after tomorrow.

Once the voice file is completed, all radio conversations between pilots and controllers, captains and bookkeepers, and pilots and crew members will be secured for the final two hours until the moment of the accident.

However, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said that even if the contents of the conversation are confirmed, it will not be easy to immediately announce them to the outside world.
