Acting President Choi Sang-mok emphasized fairness and objectivity in the investigation into the cause of the Jeju Air plane accident.
Acting President Choi, who threw a clue to the controversial political situation caused by the appointment of two constitutional judges yesterday, started the new year by paying respects to the Memorial Park and visiting military units.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok called for a strict investigation into the cause of the Jeju Air plane accident.
Acting Choi emphasized fairness and objectivity, saying that South Korean and U.S. investigators and aircraft manufacturers are jointly investigating the cause.
[Choi Sang-mok / Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance: Most importantly, fairness and objectivity must be secured in addition to the expertise of the investigation. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport once again requests that the investigation process be carried out strictly in accordance with the laws and international standards related to the accident investigation.
Regarding the funeral of the victims, the related agencies repeatedly asked for the process to be carried out with the utmost respect for the opinions of the bereaved families.
Earlier in the day, Choi began the New Year's Day with a visit to the Seoul National Cemetery with members of the State Council, presidential staff.
In the guest book, he wrote that he will do his best to stabilize people's livelihoods and state affairs with the people.
The Marine Corps Division on the Western Front also visited to encourage soldiers.
The distant noise is the sound of North Korea's loudspeaker on the South.
Choi showed interest in the health of soldiers exposed to loudspeaker sounds for a long time and said he would try to support them.
