U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has said he will attend former President Jimmy Carter's funeral next week.
At a New Year's Eve party held at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on the 31st of last month, Trump told reporters that he was invited to attend the funeral of former President Carter, saying, "We are invited."
During Carter's lifetime, Trump criticized him harshly, comparing him to the "worst president," but after Carter's death, he paid tribute, saying, "I owe him my thanks."
Former President Carter's funeral, which died on the 29th of last month, will begin in his hometown of Georgia on the 4th and end with a national funeral at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., on the 9th.
A former president's national funeral is usually attended by sitting and surviving former presidents.
