The Biden administration in the U.S. bet everything on the Gaza truce, at least for its last diplomatic achievement.
[U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken: I will use all the time left to get this done. I don't want to guess what it will be or what the odds are.]
Because of this, there were a series of predictions that the ceasefire negotiations would be concluded soon, saying that 90% of the negotiations have progressed.
However, as has been the case before, negotiations have stalled again, and the ceasefire appears to have gone down the drain.
[Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari, spokesman for Qatar's Foreign Ministry: We have not been able to resolve this issue. We haven't solved it. And the crisis only continues and escalates.
The reason for the negotiations is believed to be the list of surviving hostages held in Gaza.
Hamas wants to provide a hostage list but is reportedly struggling to contact several forces that have hostages.
Hamas also claims that Israel has presented new demands that are unacceptable.
From Israel's point of view, there is no urgency.
Rather, it is actively attacking Hezbollah, which is in a ceasefire, as well as Yemen's Houthi rebels in the distance.
At this opportunity, he intends to completely repair the 'axis of resistance' with Iran.
[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: We will not take our eyes off Iran, which threatens to destroy us, and we will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and other weapons that could threaten our cities and communities.]
In the end, many believe that the Gaza ceasefire will be delayed after Trump's inauguration.
And Trump is likely to lead a cease-fire deal in Israel's favor, including restrictions on humanitarian aid in Gaza.
