Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya said he is also planning to hold a foreign ministers' meeting between Korea, China and Japan during the visit of Wang Yi, the head of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Foreign Affairs Office.
Speaking to NHK, Iwaya said he would speed up coordination to ensure that the visit takes place as early as possible in connection with an agreement to push for Wang's early visit to Japan during a visit to China in December last year.
And if possible, we will hold a meeting of foreign ministers between Korea, China, and Japan, and emphasize that we want to create a system of cooperation.
At the same time, Foreign Minister Iwaya said he will do what he can until the political situation in South Korea stabilizes.
At the foreign minister's level, he expressed his desire for a meeting of foreign ministers between Korea and Japan, saying that exchanges would not be impossible at this stage.
In this regard, South Korea and Japan are reportedly coordinating a plan for Foreign Minister Iwaya to visit South Korea and hold talks with Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol in the middle of this month.
