On the 3rd, Sungshin Women's University Professor Seo Kyung-duk urged "citizenship needs to be improved" when the KBS drama filming team set a nail to attach filming props to the Mandaeru of Byeongsan Seowon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Professor Seo Kyung-duk said on social media (SNS), "In recent years, 'damage of cultural properties' has been serious in Korea," adding, "Unbelievable events have continued to occur, such as the destruction of the tomb of Seonneung, a UNESCO heritage, in August last year, and graffiti terrorism on the wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace two years ago."

Byeongsan Seowon Mandeoru, designated as a treasure, is considered a representative work of the Seowon pavilion in Korea that shows the characteristics of simple and understated buildings in the mid-Joseon Dynasty.

In the wake of the controversy, KBS announced that it is discussing the best measures for restoration along with an official apology.
