Foreign Secretary visits memorial space for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter to pay condolences

Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol visited a memorial space for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter at the U.S. Embassy in Korea and paid his respects.

Minister Cho wrote in the condolence minutes that he grieved together at this tremendous loss, remembering his lifelong commitment to international peace and prosperity.

He also added that he hopes his legacy will lead us to a brighter future.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs mourned Carter's death on the 30th of last month, saying he devoted his life to promoting universal human values such as international peace, democracy and human rights.

The government also sent a telegram under the name of Acting President Choi Sang-mok.
