Amid a series of North Korean casualties, a high-ranking North Korean officer was sent to Kursk, Russia, on the 27th of last month, Ukrainian media "Evocation Info" reported on the 2nd local time.
The visit is aimed at investigating large-scale casualties of the North Korean military that were recently deployed in the battle for Kursk, the sources said.
The media said North Korean soldiers' participation in the battle was suspended during the senior officer's visit and has now resumed.
He also said one of the four brigades was out of action 10 days after the North Korean military was deployed to the battle of Kursk.
North Korean soldiers sent to help Russian troops last year are reportedly losing their lives after being helpless by recent Ukrainian drone attacks.
On the 23rd of last month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 3,000 North Korean soldiers were killed in Kursk.
In addition, the White House said at a briefing on the 27th of last month that more than 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or injured in the past week.
