The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police attempted to execute an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol, but it failed.

The headquarters of the investigation eventually turned away after five hours of confrontation with the security agency.

At 6:14 a.m., the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit left the Gwacheon Government Complex to execute a warrant for the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

At 7:21 p.m., about an hour after departure, he arrived in front of his official residence in Hannam-dong and joined the police special investigation team.

Forty minutes later, at 8:04 a.m., 30 people from the Airborne Division and 50 police officers opened the barricade in front of the residence and began executing the arrest warrant.

They approached the official residence through the cordon of the security guard, which was blocked by vehicles and personnel.

At around 9:50, he broke through the third cordon guarded by troops from the South Korean National Capital Defense Command and arrived in front of the building of his official residence, showing the arrest warrant to the security chief and asking for cooperation.

However, the security chief refused to search for it because it was a security zone, leading to a confrontation between the two sides.

Then, around 1:30 p.m., the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police stopped executing the warrant.

The Joint Investigation Headquarters said it decided that it was virtually impossible to execute the warrant due to the continued confrontation and that it was concerned about the safety of field personnel due to the deterrence of execution.

In the end, after a five-and-a-half-hour confrontation, Cho Dong-bon, who failed to execute the first arrest warrant for President Yoon, said he was deeply sorry for the attitude of the suspect who did not comply with the legal process and would consider measures in the future.
