Missing 31-Year-Old Korean Dead While Climbing in Bali... "Presumed Fall"

A Korean man in his 30s who started climbing in Bali, Indonesia, on New Year's Day, but disappeared the next day, has been confirmed to have died a day after his disappearance.

According to the Bali branch of the Korean Embassy in Indonesia and local media on the 3rd, 31-year-old Korean A was found dead under a 100-meter canyon in Agungsan, Karang Asem, Bali Island.

Mr. A went out to climb Mount Agung alone on the 1st and lost contact the next day.

An official from Bali Island's emergency services team told local media that it seemed to have fallen down the valley and died.

The Bali branch informed the victim's family of the accident and will discuss funeral procedures as soon as the bereaved family arrives in Bali.

At 3,31 meters above sea level, Mount Agung is the highest mountain on Bali and is popular with climbers, but it can be dangerous due to unpredictable weather, local media said.
