Kim Yong-hyun, "The president protected me...Patriotic victory"

Regarding the failure of the execution of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol, former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said, "It is a great victory for the patriotic people."

Former Minister Kim, who was arrested and charged with leading the emergency martial law incident, said in a handwritten letter released through his lawyer, "Patriots have protected the president."

"Protecting the president is protecting the free Republic of Korea," he said, adding, "I ask you to protect the president with the will of saving the country."
