The government-designated national mourning period ends today to commemorate the Jeju Air plane disaster that killed 179 people.
As a result, most of the joint memorial altar set up in 100 cities, counties, and districts, including 20 cities and provinces nationwide, will be open until midnight today.
However, the operation of joint memorial altar installed in Jeollanam-do Provincial Office and Muan has been extended until the 15th of next month in line with 49 materials.
In addition, the joint memorial altar set up in front of the main gate of Seoul City Hall will be extended until the 10th.
During the week-long national mourning period, hundreds of thousands of mourners visited the joint memorial altar across the country to honor the souls of the victims and comfort the bereaved families.
Earlier, Acting President Choi Sang-mok designated the 29th of last month, when the accident occurred, as a national mourning period until 24:00 today, and all government ministries, local governments, and public institutions raised flags, and public officials put on the basics of mourning.
