Immigration screening has been delayed at various airports in Germany due to a computer error on the afternoon of the 3rd local time.
Local media, including Spiegel, reported that Munich, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Cologne airports, as well as Germany's largest Frankfurt airport, were affected by the disruption.
In some airports, such as Düsseldorf, nationalities other than those who join the Schengen Treaty are reportedly not allowed to enter.
Local media said there was a problem with the federal police computer network used for immigration checks, and the cause was not yet known.
A spokesman for the German Federal Police explained that the immigration process is taking longer than usual because the computer network police information system, which searches for wanted status, is not working.
