Residents are showing strong anger beyond disappointment over repeated power-type corruption and misconduct.

Kim Jin-ha, the third-term governor of Yangyang-gun County, is accused of forcibly harassing her by receiving money and valuables from A, a female civil petitioner.

Governor Kim, who attended the interrogation of the suspect before his arrest, did not answer any questions from reporters.

" Do you admit to charges? Why did you get the massage chair?"

The court issued a warrant for Kim's arrest, saying there was a risk of destroying evidence.

A, a civil petitioner accused of bribing and threatening Kim using videos related to sexual harassment, was also arrested.

Kim's arrest is expected to have a significant impact on the residents' recall vote, which is expected to be around next month.

Earlier, East Sea Mayor Shim Kyu-eon, who was on his third term, was also arrested and put on trial last month on bribery charges.

Mayor Shim is accused of receiving 1.1 billion won in exchange for licensing benefits to cement companies and 60 million won in exchange for selecting a business operator from a seafood distributor.

As a result, Donghae City suffered an unprecedented disgrace in which all four previously elected mayors were subject to judicial treatment.

Residents could not hide their embarrassment at the news of a series of arrests of the incumbent head of the local government.
