At around 10:30 a.m. today (4th), a fishing boat with 22 people on board collided with a seashore rock in waters near Gageodo Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.Two fishing boat passengers were killed in the

accident, and 20 were rescued by the Coast Guard, a civilian rescue ship, and a fishing boat passing by after receiving a report.

In addition, two of the rescued people complained of hypothermia and were taken to a large hospital by helicopter.

At the time of the accident, strong winds of 8-12m per second were blowing in the waters of Gageodo Island, and the height of the waves was relatively high at 1-1.5m.

The Coast Guard will investigate the exact cause of the accident against the fishing boat captain.
