'Pro-Russia' Serbia asks Putin to talk..."The U.S. will announce sanctions soon".

Pro-Russian President Aleksandar Vucic plans to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin for talks later this month, a report showed.

Russian media, including the Tas news agency, reported that Vucic told a meeting of the Serbian government that he would ask Putin for a phone call between the 25th and the 27th.

President Vucic said the current Biden administration will announce sanctions on Serbia's oil and gas companies, Serbia's oil and gas industry, NIS, in the coming 15th, before U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

President Vucic said he will visit the U.S. around the 20th when Trump's inauguration ceremony will be held and talk to Putin based on the results.

Responding to such comments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Tas news agency that "we will coordinate conversations with partners at various levels as soon as possible, as well as at the highest level."

NIS is one of Southeast Europe's largest energy companies, with major shareholders Gazprom and Gazprom Neft, Russian state-owned energy companies with a 56.15% stake.

Last month, another pro-Russian European leader, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Pizzo, visited Russia and met with Putin to discuss cutting off Russian natural gas supplies through Ukraine's gas pipeline.

Since Ukraine suspended Russian gas supplies via its gas pipelines since the 1st, pro-Russian countries in Europe, including Slovakia and Hungary, have predicted that their departure from the Russian front line could intensify.
