The New York Times reported that U.S. President-elect Trump, who will take office on the 20th, raised nearly 300 billion won after winning the presidential election in November last year.
President-elect Trump is said to have raised more than $200 million and 290 billion won in donations for inauguration ceremonies, political operations, and presidential libraries.
Among them, donations collected at the inauguration preparation committee amounted to $150 million and 220 billion won, far exceeding $107 million at the first inauguration in 2017.
In particular, Ford, Toyota Motor and software company Intuit reportedly donated $1 million as companies scrambled to donate.
Goldman Sachs and General Motors, Bank of America, AT&T and Stanley Black & Decker are also said to have participated in the donation.
Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman have also donated $1 million or pledged to the inaugural committee.
Drugmaker Pfizer has pledged donations through Miller Strategy, a government lobby run by Jeff Miller, Trump's former campaign fundraising arm.
