Due to the influence of smog from China, the concentration of ultrafine dust in the country, except Gangwon and Jeonnam, has risen above "bad."

Tomorrow, as cold air comes down from the north again, a strong cold wave is expected, and heavy snow is expected in Honam.

I'm connecting with the reporter.

Reporter Kim Min-kyung, please tell us the fine dust situation in detail.

[Reporter]
Yes, with smog from China flowing in overnight, the air quality in the west is not good due to stagnant airflow.

Currently, the concentration of ultrafine dust in Jeju Island has soared to the level of 'very bad', and the concentration of ultrafine dust in Incheon and Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeonbuk and Yeongnam has also risen to the 'bad' level.

Due to the influence of smog, the air quality in Seoul is also not good.

Let's take a look at the YTN disaster reporting system 'Idas' screen.

This is the view from the 63 Building in Seoul.

Because of the severe fine dust, downtown Seoul is blurred.

Next, it is near east of JC in Gyeonggi-do.

It's midday, but my vision is blurry.

The fog and ultrafine dust are intertwined as if they had hit a white smoke curtain.

Despite this cloudy sky, it is difficult to check air quality information in Seoul from 6 a.m.

The National Institute of Environmental Research said that the server in charge of air quality information in Seoul has a communication failure and is recovering, adding that it is difficult to confirm the exact timing of completion of the recovery.

However, as cold air descends from the north from daytime, the dust is pushed southeast, and air quality across the country is expected to gradually recover to normal levels in the afternoon.

Starting tomorrow, heavy snow is expected in Honam due to the strongest cold weather this winter?

[Reporter]
Yes, low pressure is stagnant in the upper atmosphere, and strong cold air is pushed down as the cold continental high pressure expands in the lower layers.

This morning, the temperature in Seoul was 2.2 degrees, far above the average of 7 degrees, but

It is expected to drop to minus 6 degrees tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and to minus 12 degrees on Thursday, the writing.

Cold wave warnings were also issued as of 10 a.m. in Gangwon Province and northeastern Gyeonggi Province as temperatures are expected to drop below minus 12 degrees Celsius in the morning for more than two days.

Heavy snow is expected on the west coast and Honam south of Chungnam due to the influence of the northwest wind along with the fierce cold wave.

First of all, the amount of snow predicted from tomorrow to the day after tomorrow is more than 20cm in Jeonbuk, 15cm in Gwangju and Jeonnam, and 3 to 10cm in Chungnam and Jeju mountains.

The snow is expected to fall as much as 40cm in Jeonbuk as it continues until the second half of the week.

In particular, strong snow of 3 to 5cm per hour is expected to be concentrated overnight tomorrow and the night after tomorrow, so thorough preparations such as facility inspection are needed in advance.
